"50 Years of Bangladesh: Celebrating the Golden Jubilee"
December 16, was the glorious day when the Pakistan Army under the leadership of General A.A.K. Niazi, and 93,000 soldiers laid down their arms and surrendered to the Indian and Bangladeshi forces. On December 16, 1971, Bangladesh celebrated the fiftieth day of its accession to freedom. The victory cost millions of lives. Millions of people have lost their homes and become refugees. The country's path in these 50 years has not been easy. The country has gone through enormous struggles, be it famine, floods, autocracy, or the ever-present problem of corruption. However, no one can deny the role of Bangladesh as a modern nation, a country full of potential and full of opportunities, from transitioning from a less developed economy to a middle-income economy to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. In the last decade signaled its progress through various indicators, including economic growth, poverty reduction, and women's empowerment. Bangladesh's current goal is to achieve developed country status. With the launch of Bangabandhu Satellite-l, the red-green flag of Bangladesh has now entered space. The government has also used its resources to implement mega infrastructure projects such as the Padma Bridge. As we celebrate our Golden Jubilee, let us strive to create unity, love, and peace among the citizens of our country.
